Commonwealth Learning Center works exclusively on a 1:1 basis with each client and specializes in serving individuals with learning differences such as dyslexia and ADHD. We utilize multisensory approaches and tailor our lessons to meet each student’s needs, taking into account learning style and goals.
Our tutors are warm, patient, confidence-builders who engage students of all ages through multisensory teaching techniques. Many of our tutors hold teaching certificates, and most have advanced degrees and specialized training. All of our tutors have undergone criminal background checks.
An educational evaluation is an important first step in addressing learning difficulties. Commonwealth Learning Center offers educational assessments in reading, phonological skills, spelling, written expression, and mathematics.
As an independent nonprofit organization, we set our own competitive hourly rates. We offer a 5% tuition discount for siblings of enrolled students, and financial aid is available on a sliding scale based on family income.
We do not require individual clients to contract for a particular period of time. Students attend for as long as they find our services to be beneficial.
In-person services take place at our learning center, which is located in Needham, Massachusetts. We are also able to see clients at Greater Boston area schools or public libraries. We do not offer in-home tutoring.
We do offer remote tutoring! Unfortunately, we are not able to conduct educational evaluations virtually.
